Spatial Investigations - Searching

Searching is about the moment when movement shows up before it turns into language.
The model was not a trained dancer. What drew me in was exactly the lack of technical certainty, the hesitation, the fragility, the unpredictability of a body discovering its own gestures.
Nothing was choreographed. We started with a few suggestions and let each movement grow through improvisation. Some gestures came naturally, others vanished almost as soon as they appeared. Hesitation became part of the work, as important as confidence.
Dance itself was not really the point, the point was the moment before movement becomes controlled. A body still searching for balance reveals something a trained performance does not. It builds its own vocabulary as it moves.
These photographs do not record a choreography. They follow a process of discovery, where posture, rhythm and direction all stay uncertain. The images hold onto the brief stretch where a gesture still belongs to exploration rather than technique.
