Residual Landscapes - Ground Signals

Ground Signals was photographed during the winter of 2015 in Sucy-en-Brie, at a time when I was leaving both my job and the town for Paris. I kept returning to the same open field, walking through it as the season slowly changed. The landscape offered no dramatic event, only subtle marks left by weather, machinery and time.

Photographing became a way of observing that period without trying to explain it. Furrows, tracks and scattered forms gradually echoed an inner state that remained difficult to put into words. The images stay rooted in the physical reality of the place, while allowing the landscape to carry the quiet tension of transition, uncertainty and departure.
