Walked territories - Material Territories

Material Territories grew out of years of observing landscapes at close range. Whether photographing granite, bark, stone walls or exposed shorelines, I became interested in the physical processes that slowly shape surfaces over time.

Each series focuses on a different material and on the traces left by erosion, pressure, weather or vegetation. Photography does not transform these places; it simply changes the scale at which they are observed, revealing details that often go unnoticed.

Taken together, these projects explore how careful observation can alter the way we read a landscape, allowing familiar forms to become unexpectedly ambiguous.
