Skin & Fragment - Panoramic Body

For this series, the models never knew what the final image would hold.
Using a panoramic camera, I photographed only a narrow horizontal slice of the body. The models moved freely, but most of their gestures fell outside the frame,  they had no way of knowing which details would show up or vanish from one photograph to the next.
That uncertainty became part of the process. A shoulder, a hand, the curve of a back, a patch of skin could suddenly fill the whole image while the rest of the body stayed out of frame. These photographs ask for a different kind of looking, one where the fragment becomes a complete form rather than an incomplete part of one.
The panoramic format does not try to show more. It asks what happens when we deliberately see less. By narrowing the body down to a string of details, the images shift attention from identity toward texture, light, movement, touch.
Panoramic Body asks how a body can be experienced in fragments, leaving the parts left out as alive as the ones the photograph shows.
